John Ambrose Franklin was born at 5:09 pm!
I guess I have to start off by saying how completely frustrating everything was for us. Sarah was induced 2 times in the past 3 weeks, and this little guy just didn’t want to come out. We came in last night and we were promptly discharged after they realized that our doctor wasn’t on call. It was do or die time. If the baby didn’t come out naturally today, Sarah was going to have to have a C-section, a prospect that neither of us wanted. Well, all is well because he came today, the little stinker. He’s safe and healthy and everyone is happy, thank God.
The picture below how extremely frustrated Sarah was.
More pictures to come later!

What are you doing right now?
I’m sitting at home right now typing this as my dejected and still red eyed wife is stuffing popeyes chicken into her mouth. Everyone is safe and healthy, but I do not have a new son yet. I swear my wife has a child inside of her. I swear. These past two days have been the most stressful days that I’ve gone through so far this year. And surprisingly none of the stress stems from the fact that both my mother and my mother in law have been at my apartment for the past two days!
What the heck happened?
Dr. Lo***, my wife’s doctor told her that she needed to be induced today. So that’s where we were. For 12 hours. With People Magazine’s and I.V. drips. Only for whatever reason, she didn’t REALIZE that my wife was at 41 weeks and not 42 weeks. Apparently, the common practice is to induce women once they’ve reached 42 weeks. And if you are mistakenly induced because your doctor can’t READ BABY READ and you’re only at 41 weeks and the inducement doesn’t take, then you get sent home. The inducement didn’t take. Again. Only there was a ton of other crap that happened. Nurses turning pitocin on and off. Not being able to see a doctor for 4 hours. Painful contractions. Predictions. Hormones. Not eating all day. None of the nurses knew what the doctor’s plans were. The doctors weren’t communicating.
I’m going to bed.

I’ve never actually seen him except through an ultra-sound, but I’m sure its true! You see, he’s still inside my wife’s belly. John Ambrose Franklin did NOT want to come out and so has not come out. After about 20 hours of being on meds, Sarah called it quits. 20 hours of sitting watching tv, reading magazines, and dreaming about eating chicken, she decided (and the doctor too) that the baby was gonna come on his own terrms. The baby is gonna come when he comes.
I decided to post some pictures that portrayed how completely bored we were this weekend. Sarah was bored, I was bored, my mom was bored. Oh well. The baby will come when he comes. The last one is a picture that Evelyn drew of Ambrose and his family.
For whatever reason, she insists that his skin is going to be a dark brown. “He’s going to be a brown baby!”, she says.

I need to fix it. I think I’m going to start from scratch with the design when I get some time. I just recently updated to the latest version of wordpress and it broke some things. New layout coming soon!
