I know it’s art and all. But the burning man Jesus on the cross thing is played out. I know you think you’re cute up there, but it’s been done before. Seriously. No, I’m serious. Hey, Look at me. I bet you’re the 332nd art piece with someone on a fake cross (some of them without clothes oh woow they’re wacky) . It’s just, you know. How many Burning Man art people does it take? We get the nudity; you’re free and we’re repressed. I understand the mocking religion thing, it’s so cool to do. You annoy me. You annoy me because you’re not good at what you’re trying to do. You’re too obvious. Too straightforward. Being subjected to your satire is like being a kindergarten teacher and trying to be nice for the 333rd time in a row to a kid who made one of those double hands plate thingys for mother’s day. I’m not even offended by what you think I should be offended by. So, I’m gonna go pray for rain, or something.
Although there are quite a few people over there who are quite pissed. I wonder how many of those who are upset work for companies that would be making some serious cash off of these procedures.
Couples will no longer be able to choose the sex of their baby in Sydney fertility clinics, after Australia’s highest ethics authority ruled the procedure was not in the interests of resulting children.
But critics say the clampdown – which in effect ends non-medical sex selection in Australia – reflects religious and other partisan interests and does not represent public attitudes towards the increasingly popular procedure.
Is this world insane? I mean, we actually have to try to justify to people why it’s wrong to choose your babies sex?
Also take a look at the controversy that is sorta raging (over with by now obviously) when Richard Sternberg was barred from the Smithsonian for being a “religious fundamentalist.” He made the sad mistake of being considered a co-conspirator with a creationist. He’s not even a creationist or an I.D.er, but in fact allowed a creation scientist to publish a scientific article in a peer reviewed journal he manages. He followed all the regular courses of action gave it all the regular peer reivew and it was edited and changed properly. But I guess the fact that many people are so staunchly anti-creationist that they don’t even want these folks considered scientists.
This is the 7th episode of the Catholic Cast. I’ve found some great catholic music to play, started a new segment where I talk to my grandfather, and ranted just a tid-bit about Terri Schiavo. Expect my rant to not be in-depth at all. It wasn’t planned out.
Oh yes, it seems as if something is going to happen to save this young woman. I still can’t get over the fact that people keep saying, “let the woman die in dignity.” She’s, um, not dying. She’s not dying. Besides her severe (and most likely un-fixable) brain damage, she’s perfectly healthy.
Listen to the below mp3 for a clip of Terri interacting with her father. It seems to me that she’s clearly trying to communicate.
