I usually understand somewhat where you are coming from, but I am baffled by, and really take offense at your opening remark

"They're basically vegans, only worse."

What is "bad" about vegans? and what is "worse" about someone who eats the perfectly good food we throw away?

All the vegans I know are people who have strong values and want to make a difference. They are stronger than me. The facts about the incredible waste and consiquences to the earth and society indicate that we should all be vegans. If I had more self control I would be one myself. Unfortunatly I am weaker.

I see your looking down on someone not wasting food as similar to the way people looked down on me in Japan. Is it "bad" to ask for a doggy-bag at a restraunt? In America it is normal, but in Japan people look down on it the same way you look down on a person eating food someone else threw away. I still took a tupperware with me to the restraunts so I could take my leftovers home. Never mind the fact that the simple act of bringing most of that food tousands of miles around the world to our table is a major contributer to global warming, but I hardly think that throwing so much away shows any respect for Gods gifts to us.

"Do they really think that they'll change the minds of those in society? Do they really? Do they really think that eating garbage is the answer?"

I can't say if it will change minds, but it does make people think. It made me think, and the fact that you put it on your site shows that it made you think as well. As for it being the answer, I don't think it is, but I think it is closer to the answer than simply ignoring the fact that we are such bad stewards of the gifts that God has given us.

Although from my past comments, we both realize that our views are different in some respects (but much the same in others), I love reading your site because it gives me a view different than my own, from a source that I can relate to and understand. I must say though, that this is one place where I really felt "Who is this guy?"

Of course I say all this simply to express my feelings, I still value your thoughts and it takes a lot more than one post to turn me off from your site. No hard feelings ;)
