You know I was thinking about war and political activism lately. All the men in my (O'Brien) family, my grandpa, dad, and brother served in the military. Mike never went to war, but grandpa and dad did. It made we wonder if younger people have less "respect" for the war, since they haven't really been forced into participating in it. Weird thought but even though a lot of the guys that were drafted for Vietnam didn't want to go, the ones that did, are now very "patriotic" and politically active (or at least vote). I wonder if we don't have a draft for another 20 years, if that will change a lot for our generation. Going 50 years without draft could affect the way people look at war. I am in no way supporting a draft or the current war, but it makes you think that maybe that is why our generation isn't doing much politically in the world. Maybe it even accounts for low voter turnout.

Not scientific methods behind that...just a thought. What do you think Jayson?
