I find it reasonable that we should be able to regulate filth speech without the slippery slope.

Pornography has no value as social or political speech; no meaning. It is in the same category as yelling superlatives at the cashier. All freedoms do have their limits, and I know you’d agree to that. It is VERY easy to separate pornography from art and other forms of expression. Mere nudity/sexuality in art is not pornography. It is common sense to be able to separate an actual attempt to analyze human sexuality through the medium of art and porn.

You say,

What you’re really saying is that porn leaves you with an icky feeling; but it’s not really that wrong; It doesn’t harm those involved in it and those who watch it. Yes, they are grown ups. Yes, they do consent to it. But human beings consent to all types of things in the world that are harmful for them. Crack cocaine anyone? Teenage suicide? Now most laws, crimes, and acts of immorality are committed against unwilling participants, but not in all cases. Mere consent does not a moral act make.

Beyond that, it’s well known that the pornography industry is very seedy. The majority of it’s actors are young girls who enter into the business for the same reason that prostitutes enter into prostitution; they’re desperate and poor.

I’ve always thought it odd that the difference between prostitution and pornography was video evidence.

Well I did it again. A father’s day went by and I absolutely forgot to call my dad and both sets of grandpas. I’ll call them tomorrow for sure. In other news the family had a great weekend. Our dear friend Breezy O’Brien just became Breezy Peyton. It was a rather interesting wedding. I’ll post some pictures from the ceremony up here sometime soon.

The big Evelyn story was that we were very afraid to use a pacifier during times when mom couldn’t be there to feed her. Sarah was one of the bridesmaids and of course that means that she couldn’t be with Evelyn for long periods of time. We kept the pacifier out of the mouth as much as possible and used it on a very limited basis. Sarah felt like she was a bad mother when she walked up and saw Evelyn chomping on the pacifier. I told her, of course, that statement was nonsense.

Oh well.

I made a video of Evelyn’s first bath ever. I’m not counting the one that they gave her when she was covered with a bunch of white crap right after she was born. This is her first “official” bath as far as I’m concerned. Anywas, it’s pretty much her crying a lot and getting rubbed down with a wet towel. Not much to see unless you’re a member of the family.
